One space at a time

Room by Room Home is a growing library of home organization guides, each one about a single space — a drawer, a cabinet, a closet, a garage — or a single space plus one real constraint, like renting or a kitchen with no pantry. Every guide follows the same shape: the real constraint of the space, a decision rule for what goes where, the way the system fails, and a check you can run afterward to confirm it worked.

Who writes the guides

The guides are written and edited by Colette Ramsey, who has spent more than a decade helping households set up storage that survives daily use — most of them rented, on a budget, or shared with children.

How each guide is built

• One guide covers one specific space, or one space plus one constraint.
• Physical obstacles come first: pipes, hinges, shelf depth, reach, moisture, and door swing. Measure before buying.
• Product types stay generic. No affiliate rankings, no brand-led comparison tables, no invented measurements or prices.
• Every system ends with a small maintenance routine, because setup without a reset is temporary.
